With only five days to go before applications closed, we squeezed in our proposal to stage a 60 minute version of Banger’s Elixir to the Scranton Fringe Festival. Currently a 20 minute piece by Alicia Grega, the goal is to workshop the play with playwright/director Mark Zdancewicz and a cast of five actors to be auditioned in June.

Incorporating real spam subject lines collected during the last five years since Banger’s was originally conceived as a performance art piece, the absurdist script imagines a crew of four very different personalities literally working for peanuts as they strive to create “clickable” subject lines under the tyranny of a gross capitalist monster boss.
