About Common Play Factory

Superstruction is defined as the act of building upon a pre-existing edifice or foundation. Common Play Factory honors the deeply collaborative roots of art nourished by thousands of years of ideas that continue to flavor our present-day contributions.

We believe in the positive act of conscious creation as a necessary antidote to social negativity and cultural deterioration.

Our tools are those of live theatre, which incorporates all forms of artistic expression. Live theatre in the 21st century, just like that of ancient civilizations, has the power to unite communities in shared sensory experience, stimulating minds, emotions, and spiritual ambition toward responsible action.

We choose to live and work in Northeast Pennsylvania where our roots run deep and our hearts are entrenched.

VIDEO: Who is Common Play Factory?

We assert that the creation of culture is work that matters. Our projects strive to serve a social function as well as entertain. The audience is our partner in culture. We embrace our responsibility to not waste anyone’s time.

We strive to do this beyond hierarchy. Our company members are freelance creative operatives, working and training together to become more skilled at operating all the machines of production from their own bodies to scripts, design elements, technology, marketing and administration.
